- In India, every year NOVEMBER 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day. This is celebrated to honour the birthday anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was the first Prime Minister of Independent India, born in 1889 in Allahabad, India. This day marks the 133rd birthday anniversary of Nehru.
- As paying honour to Pandit Nehru, Children's Day endeavor to raise awareness of children’s rights, care, and education. It also broke the regulation of child labour in the country.
- Nehru was very much fond of children and always having a friendly relation with all children in the nation where ever he goes during his meetings and programs. Hence, he was named as “Chacha Nehru” by the children.
- He believed that children were the future pillars and nation’s real strength, foundation of the society. He usually says, “the children of today will make the country of tomorrow, the way we bring them up will determine the future of our country.”
- We everyone like to spend time with young children usually right! By looking at them, it reminds our childhood days. Educate a child about the society, who will identify the problems and solve it.
